Davis is a leading voice in financial services marketing and sales. During a 17-year career with Instinet, he held a number of senior management positions in the company’s core brokerage business, including head of sales and marketing, co-head of sales and trading, and CEO of Instinet Research. During this period, Instinet’s revenues grew from just over $2 million (1984) to more than $1 billion (2000) with profits of more than $200 million. At Reuters Group, Instinet’s parent company, he was a member of the Executive Management Team and the board of directors of Reuters America. During that time he was responsible for running sales for Reuters, as well as being the Co-Head of Reuters business in America in 1998.
Davis is a frequent speaker at financial industry and technology conferences on topics ranging from general and sales management issues to strategies for trading and measuring trading costs of equity securities. He was a board member of Multtex.com, 1996-1998, and is currently on the boards of the non-profit group Youth at Risk.
